Vimeo was never going to be another YouTube, with the streaming video site more focussed on creative sorts than viral video breakouts.
So it's pretty fitting that some Vimeo content is heading to the big screen. The company has partnered with Spotlight Cinema Network in the US to show off content from their Staff Picks Channel before screenings at the Indie movie theatres. That's a great way to get more exposure for their creative contributors and to bring new video offerings to liven up those dreadfully dull ads you see before the movie.
Branded content will also be available for these spots, from their curated Brand Studio which includes collaborations with the likes of the Weinstein company, Cartier and Philips.
