Watch what a DSLR camera looks like when taking photos

Ever wondered what all those moving pieces inside a DSLR camera looks like when you take a picture? Well, thankfully The Slow Mo Guys are here to show us exactly what happens when a DSLR camera snaps your shot.

Not only do we get the video of the operation in the camera in slow motion, but you can learn how a DSLR camera works and some settings to use depending on what you’re taking a picture of. DSLR cameras utilise an angled mirror so that you can see exactly what you will take a photo of. Of course, to take a picture, this mirror must move so that light can hit the sensor. Watch what the process looks like in the below video.

The various shots look pretty identical in real time, but you really get an appreciation for how everything works when the video is slowed down. The intricacies of these devices are fascinating. We enjoy videos from The Slow Mo Guys because we get to see the nitty gritty moments of videos. They're educational and fun, our favourite type of video.
