Huawei’s Honor brand is to host an event today where it is to announce some new devices. Here’s what we expect to see announced.
The Honor 5C was released in China back in April, but looks likely to be making its way to Europe. The device features a Kirin 650 SoC, 2GB RAM, 16GB storage, and a 5.2-inch Full HD display. Tweets from the Honor India account outline that a device with this processor is to be announced, which means the Honor 5C is the most likely candidate.
Huawei has emphasised the camera offerings of recent handsets, and the Honor 5C is no different. Not only does it feature a 13MP rear-facing camera, but it has a 13MP camera for selfies too.
There may be another new product announcement alongside the 5C. Neowin got word from Honor that it has “an exciting new product” to announce as part of a virtual launch event. The tagline on the invite reads, “be who you are, not who the world wants you to be," but that doesn’t give much away about the product; it seems to mirror Honor’s brand slogan, “For The Brave.” What the invite promises is a “new definition of fast, robust and affordable, all in one.”
Recently, there have been rumours circulating about the Honor 8. This is being tipped to feature a 5.2-inch display, glass on both sides of the device, and 2.5D curved glass on the rear panel. Internally, it’s likely to feature a Kirin 950 or Kirin 955 processor backed up by 4GB RAM. This event could be the perfect showcase for the Honor 8.
