It's no secret that Google has another mobile operating system in the works, with Android L widely teased across the net for the last few months. We even know some of the new features that will roll out with L - including an all new look and changes to how notifications are displayed. But what the heck does the 'L' stand for?!
Previous generations of Android all have one thing in common - they're named after something sweet and delicious. So you have everything from Cupcake to KitKat, via Donut, Froyo, Gingerbread and more. Yes its a slightly weird naming convention but who doesn't need more sweet things in their lives?
Given this trend, there have been numerous rumours around the naming of Android L. Some have said Lollipop, others Lemon Meringue Pie and the latter certainly gets some extra points today with this tease-tastic video from Google.
It's all pretty clever stuff, as they all wait to find out what's going on behind the 5.0 door - confirming that this will be a full update to the OS. It's likely that will will be revealed today, alongside the confirmation of the Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 devices.
Android L could start rolling out as early as November 1st 2014.
