WhatsApp releases desktop messaging app for free

If you don’t have your phone handy, you can still carry on conversations with friends and family. WhatsApp has released a new desktop messaging app for free on Windows 8, Windows 10, and Apple OS X.

The app mirrors your messages on your phone, allowing you to carry on your conversations seamlessly. WhatsApp announced the app, writing, "Today we're introducing a desktop app so you have a new way to stay in touch anytime and anywhere – whether on your phone or computer at home or work.”

"Just like WhatsApp Web, the new desktop app lets you message with friends and family while your phone stays in your pocket."

You can download the app from the WhatsApp website. Then you just open the app on your PC and scan the QR code using the WhatsApp app on your phone.
