Xperia X update adds new audio engine

Sony Mobile’s latest update for its Xperia X line of smartphones includes support for a new audio engine, as reported on the Sony Mobile blog.

The new 38.3.1A.0.91 firmware update for Xperia X devices features the Sony Audio Effects Engine which replaces Android’s integrated audio effects, meaning that all MusicFX functionalities are now run on the device through Sony’s algorithm rather than the original Android algorithm.

The update also adds WoWiFi and VoLTE support for some countries, and fixes an issue some users were experiencing when restarting their device’s default Bluetooth application.
