Apple already launched two new handsets and an all new tablet this year but they aren't about to rest on their laurels, with the Apple Watch due in the first half of 2015.
It's set to be the first entirely new product from the tech giant since the introduction of the iPad in 2010 and also ties into the growing trend of smartwatches coming from every major manufacturer. And anticipation is high since its blockbuster unveiling, but some details are still lacking.
There's the matter of not knowing the release date but the pricing is also a mystery, at least for some models. Apple said pricing would start at around $350 for the most basic Apple Watch but they also talked about a number of other configurations, including an extremely fancy gold version.
Now, iGen.fris reporting that they have the scoop on the higher end Apple Watch, and that it could retail for between $4000 and $5000. They don't name their sources but this price is both larger and significantly smaller than has previously been reported.
The site also claims that the first Apple Watches could arrive as early as the 14th of February, will it be pitched as some kind of romantic gift? With its intimate social functionality, that might just be what happens. There's also a good chance that the gold version of the Apple Watch won't street until later in 2015.
More as we get it.
