Laura Jackson has some experience hosting Celebrity Super Spa, meanwhile former Westlife member and singer-songwriter Brian McFadden gained experience as a judge on Australia’s Got Talent. Both have gained the opportunity to host Channel 5’s new show Stand by Your Man.
The singer has commented he is “over the moon” to be the new co-host. He added “Dating should be a fun and exciting experience and I'm looking forward to creating some compatible matches - fingers crossed”. The show sees four men try to win a date with the forty women in the studio audience.
Both hosts will chat with the contestants and the audience to find out more about them. The men take part in a series of challenges in an attempt to win the favour of the women. At the end of the tasks, the women stand in their favourite man's line. The man who gets the most women choosing him as their date gets to pick which of them he would like to take out.
Jackson noted "Dating's already a game, so Stand by Your Man isn't a step that far from most of our weekend lives anyway! I look forward to encouraging the girls to put the guys through their paces." It is planned to air this summer.
