The presenter of Big Money Game Brian Ormond claims he was not taken aback by the decision on behalf of RTE to end the gameshow this summer. In fact, he claims he knew it would be axed. The other half of Pippa O’Connor has presented for the gameshow as well as working for the national lottery, which he continues to do.
The father-of-two explained it is all a part of the job, given the changeable climate of TV and entertainment. He stated “they called me and told me what they were going to do” to The Herald. He added “I think it's great that RTE are mixing things up, so let's see what they come up with. I'm on rotation with them, and I'm still working with the National Lottery. I've been told I'm definitely in the mix for their summer programme. So we'll just have to wait and see”.
His wife Pippa also commented “It's not like you're devastated – it's the way TV goes. They have to change things – shows have to come to an end. He doesn't even know year to year what's happening – nothing is set in stone.”
