In the aftermath of his axed radio show 2FM co-hosted with Lucy Kennedy, which ended in June 2012, Baz Ashmawy has not been waiting around for another opportunity but went out and grabbed it by the horns-probably quite literally given the content of his new Sky One show entitled 50 Ways To Kill Your Mammy.
Not most 70-year-old women are up for jumping out of planes and taking on fearsome animals but Baz Ashmawy’s mother Nancy does. Well, most Irish people know any old ladies named Nancy (of which there are hundreds, it’s right after Mary) are secretly feisty lil ones which a penchant for danger and knitting on the side. The presenter just wrapped his six-part series with the British channel Sky, and confirms it will air this summer.
The show sees Baz and his mam take on death-defying acts such as snake-charming, driving high-speed, swimming with sharks and wrestling crocodiles. He commented “I'm lucky enough in my life to have seen and done of the most amazing things you could do and everything I've done, I've shared with my mammy. Now at the age of 70, she wants a taste[…]t a stage in her life where she yearns for a bit of adventure”.
