Coen Brothers Working on First TV Series

The Oscar-winning Coen brothers are hard at work on their very first TV series. Titled The Ballad of Buster Scruggs¸ the original six-episode mini-series is set in the Old West and will be released in conjunction with a related theatrical release.

This marks the Coens’ first venture into the world of TV. While their classic film Fargo was adapted for television by Noah Hawley, the brothers have so far avoided the format. It is, however, not their first storyline set in the American West. Some of their best work, including No Country for Old Men and True Grit (above), uses the vast expanses of the former frontier to incredible effect.

The release date of the TV series and the television network it will be broadcast on have yet to be confirmed.
