It has already been announced that Louis Walsh, Cheryl Cole and Simon Cowell will sit in the make-or-break chairs of the X Factor’s judging panel, but will Burn singer Ellie Goulding join them? Walsh has suggested so, as when the music producer was asked by The Sun about the final spot on the team of judges, he replied “I've heard Ellie Goulding. I just hope it's a girl.”
This will be the eleventh series of the singing competition reality TV show, with Cowell returning after a three-year absence due to his work on the US version of the popular show. Cole is also returning after a contentious break from the show, having worked on it from 2008-2010. Since Cowell recently stated "I'm not going to put somebody next to her who she hates” in reference to the final judge, it may be down to the Geordie singer. Though Ellie Goulding doesn’t seem a match for the highly cut-throat, mainstream pop and light alternatives such as RnB and rap, she has performed twice during last year’s series so perhaps Walsh is not just pulling our leg.
