Fans pay $20000 to appear and die in Game of Thrones
Fan favourites may be offed with every turn of the page and TV episode, but two fans know that they will be among the casualties after paying $20,000 for the privilege.

Author George R.R. Martin decided to raise money for a New Mexico wolf sanctuary with fans given the opportunity to purchase a variety of rewards. Two ‘lucky’ people are to be written into his next book in the A Song of Ice and Fire series and will be killed off shortly afterwards. We're sure that they'll be hoping to get even more bang for their buck by being featured on the TV show too.

Other tiers give people the chance to have breakfast with Martin – possibly a good chance to ask why he’s killed off everyone you’ve loved – one of the author’s hats, or simply a t-shirt, depending on how much you’re willing to part with.

All those who make a donation will be entered into a draw to be flown to Santa Fe to meet Martin and visit the Wild Spirit wolf sanctuary the author is raising funds for.

The two fans who paid the pricey sum of $20,000 – one male and one female – will be given the opportunity to choose their station before he kills them off in traditionally grizzly fashion.
