With season four just at our door, the makers of Game of Thrones are in full swing with promotions and premieres. The New York premiere of season four took place this Tuesday, and joining cast and crew was the author George R.R. Martin. Good oul Martin may have let a few things slip that were meant to be kept shtump, but that’s why we love him (aside from him being a creative genius that is).
Speaking to Hollywood Reporter, the writer admitted the prospect of a film adaptation is being “actively discussed” at the moment. He opened up “it all depends on how long the main series runs.” He continued “Do we run for seven years? Do we run for eights? Do we run for 10? The books get bigger and bigger. It might need a feature to tie things up, something with a feature budget, like $100 million for two hours. Those dragons get real big, you know?”
