Game of Thrones wll be returning for its fifth season in April 2015, and at this rate it won't be long before the HBO show overtakes author George R.R. Martin's novels. Which might actually be for the best.
Game of Thrones isn't just TV, it's HBO and it was never more true than in this epic series with feature film production values and massive international shoots featuring a cast and crew of hundreds and a per episode budget of around $6 million. Which actually isn't bad when you consider it's basically a mini-movie.
And if you want to get an idea of just how big these productions are, you'll definitely want to check out this 26 minute making-of which takes a single day in the production of season 5 and shows what was going on concurrently in Northern Ireland, Croatia and Spain. It's pretty incredible to see how much goes into putting the show together.
There's a reason its the biggest TV show around.
Game of Thrones Season 5 kicks off on April 12th 2015.
