Who would’ve thought Taylor Swift, the tween favourite and country music breakthrough, is the music star to get Lena Dunham, edgy creator of HBO’s Girls, into her writing frame of mind? Not us, but apparently Swift is the artist to get Dunham’s creative juices flowing, according to a Glamour interview recently unveiled.
In the interview Dunham commented “she [Swift] writes her own destiny in a way which is very unusual, especially for a young woman in the world of pop music. I wrote half of the first season of Girls listening to her Speak Now album and wrote much of the third season listening to Red.”
Wait for it, it goes even further…She followed “Taylor is a good friend of mine. I call her and text her all the time. She helps me be stronger and make better decisions. She has amazing creative instincts. She's really a proponent of not feeling pressure from anybody else and recognising that you have a better connection to what your brand is than anybody else”. There you go, that’s an eye-opener.
