Yer wan off da telly Lizzy and mister Nidge himself are leaving our shores for a bit to greet the world and show off their abundant talent. Da show offs. If they didn’t have enough work already with season five filming as we speak (well maybe not at this very moment but you get the gist), actors of the popular RTE series Tom Vaughan Lawlor (Nidge) and Caoilfhionn Dunne (Lizzy da murderous cow) are venturing to theatre capitals New York and London for their respective theatre projects.
Written by Intermission director, Howie and Rookie has been reworked my Mark O’Rowe into a one-man play starring Vaughan Lawlor. The show singles in on life in inner city Dublin, something the Nidge actor should be accustomed to. The actor will be travelling to both London and New York for the play’s run. In an interview he stated “It got a great reaction when we staged in Dublin last year and it's a wonderful piece to perform in so I'm really looking forward to doing it again”.
Dunne will be setting off for Landan innit (sorry, we tried to circumnavigate it but it’s too damn hard not to add some ‘street edge’ when discussing these characters) for her play Father and Sons by Brian Friel. Still keeping it Oirish these two, g’wan.
