According to a Deadline report, the internationally beloved actress Lisa Kudrow (our favourite Friend) and producer Michael Patrick King are in talks with the US cable network HBO to revive The Comeback for a limited run.
First aired for one season only in 2005, the show never hauled in a deserved amount of ratings but became a cult favourite and was awarded an Emmy. The show follows a has-been actress trying to claw her way back to fame in a mockumentary style.
Sex and the City writer/producer/director King admitted he and Kudrow discussed reviving it earlier this year, saying ““Lisa and I actually have had a couple of lunches lately where we've been missing Valerie and wondering where she'd be. That's just a creative exploration Lisa and I are doing. We care so much about Valerie and the work that we did that, in hindsight, felt so edgy.
“Lisa and I have been amusing ourselves, and maybe somebody else might be amused in the future . . . [It would be] Valerie getting what she wanted and what fresh hell that would be.”
