According to RTE, RTE Two is looking for two new presenters that represent something so far missing in the station’s output. RTE Two are launching The RTÉ Two New Voices Award with the National Student Media Awards in order to find two new “youngsters” who will be the voices of the under-represented.
According to RTE ten, this includes both groups and individuals who feel under-represented and feel they reflect contemporary Irish society. The winner of the award will get both The RTÉ TWO New Voices Smedia Award and trophy and a four-six week work placement in RTE Two this summer on television.
Ontheir site RTE ten posted “During this time the student will be given mentored production training, on- and off-screen and in a variety of departments. During this period the winner will be paid a nominal weekly sum.
“To be in with a chance to win this prize and amazing career opportunity, students are invited to submit a show reel, which has been uploaded to the You Tube Channel. Then send this You Tube link to: email@example.com along with your CV or Bio by midday Friday 4th April.
Please make sure to include your name, phone number, email address and the college you are currently attending. The showreel should be no longer than 2-3 minutes in duration and should highlight your reporting and/or presenting skills, (including pieces to camera or interviews).”
All of the National Student Media Award winners will be announced at the Smedias on the 9 April in the Ballsbridge Hotel, Dublin 4 beginning at 8pm.
